Ingredients:
CUPCAKE BATTER:
1 ½ cups flour
1 ½ cups cake flour, sifted
1 Tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon for dusting
2 sticks butter, unsalted, softened
1 ¾ cups sugar
2 Tablespoons sugar for dusting
4 large eggs, room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 ¼ cups milk
CINNAMON BUTTERCREAM FROSTING:
1 cup butter, room temperature
3 ¾ cups powdered sugar, sifted
3 to 4 Tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Line with cupcake liners 12 cupcake pans.
Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, add the baking powder, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk until well mixed.
Step 4: In a mixing bowl, add sugar and butter. Beat until creamy.
Step 5: Add eggs gradually and beat every addition.
Step 6: Add vanilla extract and beat until well blended.
Step 7: Add milk and the flour mixture. Whisk until well mixed.
Step 8: Fill each cupcake with the batter.
Step 9: Place them inside the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean after inserting it in the middle.
Step 10: Remove from the oven and allow the cupcakes to cool at room temperature.
Step 11: In a small mixing bowl, add the rest of the sugar and cinnamon. Stir until well mixed.
Step 12: Sprinkle the mixture over the cupcakes.
For the Frosting:
Step 1: Beat butter until the texture becomes creamy.
Step 2: Add milk, vanilla extract, and sugar. Beat until well mixed.
Step 3: Spread the frosting over the cupcakes.
