Ingredients:
12 ounces gluten-free pasta of choice
½ pound bulk mild Italian sausage + ½ lb. ground beef (may use 1 lb. ground meat of choice)
1 teaspoon garlic powder, optional
1 24-25 ounces jar sugar-free marinara sauce
1 ½ c mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
Fresh basil, optional
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Apply cooking spray in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 3: Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 4: Add the sausage and ground beef. Cook for a few minutes until brown.
Step 5: Discard any excess grease.
Step 6: Remove the meat mixture from the skillet and place them onto a plate lined with paper towels.
Step 7: Place a large pot on the stove with water. Turn the heat to high and allow the water to boil.
Step 8: Add the pasta and cook for about 10 minutes or until firm to bite or al dente.
Step 9: Drain the pasta and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
Step 10: Transfer the cooked pasta onto the prepared pan.
Step 11: In the same pan with the pasta, add the meat, marinara sauce, ¾ cup of cheese, and Italian seasoning. Stir until well combined.
Step 12: Top the pasta mixture with the rest of the cheese.
Step 13: Cover the baking pan with aluminium foil and place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes.
Step 14: Remove the cover and bake for another 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted completely.
Step 15: Remove from the oven and sprinkle fresh basil on top.
Step 16: Serve and enjoy!
