Talk about a complete meal! These cabbage rolls are to die for! I know that you need this dish right now! The sauce alone is more than enough for me. Feel free to add more ingredients if you prefer. Have a blessed day, friends. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 pounds ground beef
1 teaspoon chilli powder
1 teaspoon granulated garlic or garlic powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
24 ounces crushed tomatoes
15 ounces tomato sauce
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
¼ c light brown sugar
½ head green cabbage about 4-6 cups, chopped into 1-inch pieces
2 c cooked rice (total amount is rice when cooked)
Directions:
Step 1: Place a Dutch oven or a large deep-sided skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 2: Add in the oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 3: Add the beef, garlic, chilli powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 8 minutes or until aromatic and the beef is crumbly and brown.
Step 4: Add in the tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, brown sugar, and vinegar. Stir until well mixed, then allow the mixture to boil.
Step 5: Add in the cabbage and simmer for about 5 minutes on reduced heat. Make sure to cover with a lid.
Step 6: Add in the cooked rice and simmer for 2 more minutes just until hot.
Step 7: Remove from the heat.
Step 8: Serve immediately. Enjoy!
