Ingredients:
1 loaf French bread
1 stick salted butter, at room temperature
4 cloves garlic, minced* See Notes
¼ c Italian Salad Dressing
2 ½ c shredded mozzarella cheese, separated
⅛ c Parmesan cheese, finely grated
Fresh Parsley, to garnish. Optional.
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, add the Italian salad dressing, garlic, 1 cup of Mozzarella cheese, and butter. Beat until well combined.
Step 3: Slice the French Bread horizontally into two and spread garlic butter on top.
Step 4: Arrange the halves of the French Bread on a baking sheet with the buttered side up.
Step 5: Sprinkle the rest of the Parmesan cheese and Mozzarella cheese.
Step 6: Place the baking sheet inside the preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted completely.
Step 7: Turn the heat up to low broil and bake for 2 to 3 more minutes or until crispy but not brown. Make sure to check it from time to time.
Step 8: Remove the bread from the oven and sprinkle fresh parsley on top.
Step 9: Slice them into large pieces.
Step 10: Serve and enjoy!
To Make Softer Bread:
Step 1: Put the bread back together once they are buttered up, then wrap them tightly in tinfoil.
Step 2: Place them inside the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes or until the cheese has melted completely.
Step 3: Remove from the oven slice the bread into large pieces.
Step 4: Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Feel free to use garlic powder or jarred minced garlic for this recipe.
