Ingredients:
2 tbsp sesame oil
1-inch fresh ginger, grated
8 oz shiitake mushrooms, chopped
1 c shredded cabbage
1 c shredded carrots
2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce or tamari
2 tbsp chopped fresh chives
2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
36-40 wonton wrappers
Toasted Sesame Honey Soy Sauce:
1 clove garlic, minced or grated
⅓ c rice vinegar
¼ c toasted sesame oil
1-2 tbsp Gochujang (Korean chilli paste) or chilli sauce
2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce or tamari
1 tbsp honey
Directions:
Step 1: Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 2: Add in 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 3: Add in the cabbage, mushrooms, ginger, and carrots. Stir and cook for 5 minutes or until the veggies are translucent.
Step 4: Add in soy sauce, sesame seeds, and chives, then cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until the sauce evaporates.
Step 5: Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool at room temperature.
Step 6: Fill each wrapper with 1 tablespoon of the filling.
Step 7: Use your finger to brush the sides of the wrapper with water, then fold each into a moon shape.
Step 8: Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 9: Add in the rest of the olive oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 10: Add in the potstickers and cook for 3 minutes or until light golden brown.
Step 11: Add ¼ cup of water and cover the skillet with a lid and adjust the heat to medium.
Step 12: Steam the dumplings for about 3 minutes.
Step 13: Remove from the heat.
Step 14: In a small mixing bowl, add all the ingredients for the sauce. Whisk until well combined.
Step 15: Serve the dumplings with the sauce. Enjoy!
