These luscious meatballs are so good! A big thanks to my dear friend, Alex, for this incredible recipe. Try it friends and enjoy every bite!
Ingredients:
MEATBALLS:
1 ½ lb lean ground meat (see note)
¾ c quick oats or old-fashioned oats that have been lightly pulsed in a blender
2 Eggs, slightly beaten
½ c finely chopped onion
¼ c milk
1 tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
SAUCE:
¼ – ½ c brown sugar (depending on how sweet you want the sauce)
¼ c apple cider vinegar
1 tsp yellow mustard
¼ c barbecue sauce (my favourite homemade version here)
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Hot, cooked rice for serving
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, add in all the ingredients for the meatballs. Stir until well combined.
Step 3: Use your hands to form 12 even meatballs.
Step 4: Apply cooking spray in a 9×13-inch baking pan.
Step 5: Arrange the meatballs into the prepared baking pan.
Step 6: In a medium mixing bowl, add in all the ingredients for the sauce and stir until well combined.
Step 7: Pour the sauce on top of the meatballs and spread it evenly.
Step 8: Place the baking pan inside the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes or until the meatballs are done and the sauce is thick.
Step 9: Remove from the oven.
Step 10: Serve over rice. Enjoy!
