Fried cabbage, anyone? Oh, man, this recipe is a must-try! The taste of fried cabbage is superb! What I love about this recipe is that you can add whatever meat you want aside from bacon. Try adding any kind of sausage it will go perfectly well with the rest of the ingredients. Try it now and enjoy!
Ingredients:
3 pork bacon strips thick-cut
1 medium cabbage head about 3 pounds, roughly chopped
1 medium onion diced
1 medium red bell pepper diced
⅓ c of water
¼ tablespoons red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon hot sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Step 1: Place a large non-stick skillet and turn the heat to medium.
Step 2: Add in the bacon and cook until greasy and crispy.
Step 3: Add in the bell pepper and onion. Sauté for about 3 minutes or until translucent.
Step 4: Add in the red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
Step 5: Add the sliced cabbage and water, and then cook for about 20 minutes while stirring from time to time until the liquid evaporates.
Step 6: Fry the cabbage for another 10 minutes.
Step 7: Remove from the heat and drizzle hot sauce over. Stir until well combined.
Step 8: Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Feel free to use any kind of bacon for this recipe.
Feel free to use chicken sausage as well.
Add more water if needed when cooking the cabbage.
