This dish is so heartwarming! Every bite of it feels like home. I kid you not! For me, it tastes like my childhood. This was my favourite food growing up. I have listed all the directions and ingredients so all you need to do is to follow them step by step and you are good to go! Have a great day, friends. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 pounds chicken ( I used all thighs, my preference)
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ tablespoon salt
2 cup chicken broth (I used the water my chicken cooked in)
1 can(s) cream of chicken soup
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder suggested by other readers but it makes sense
Directions:
Step 1: Put the chicken in a pot and pour in enough water to submerge the chicken.
Step 2: Cover the pot with a lid and cook for 1 hour over medium heat.
Step 3: Remove the chicken and allow it to cool. Set aside the broth for later use.
Step 4: Shred the cooled chicken and arrange them on the bottom of an 11×7-inch baking dish.
Step 5: In a small mixing bowl, add in the flour, butter, and milk. Whisk until creamy, and then pour the mixture over the shredded chicken.
Step 6: Season the broth with salt and pepper. Stir until well combined, and then pour it over the chicken. Make sure not to stir the broth.
Step 7: Place the baking dish inside the oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes at 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 8: Remove from the oven and allow it to cool at room temperature.
Step 9: Serve and enjoy!
