This recipe has always been a part of my family since I was a little kid. My Grandma used to make this all the time! Every time my Grams did her magic in the kitchen, I was always a keen observer of her greatness. Although she has a lot of great recipes, this Southern Fried Corn has always been my favourite! Well, I love corn that’s probably the reason why I think this recipe is divine! Anyway, feel free to add more ingredients if you wish. Ingredients:
8 ears of corn
2 tbsp bacon grease
4 tbsp butter
Salt if needed
1 to 2 tbsp black pepper
Splash of heavy cream
Directions:
Step 1: Use a sharp knife to cut off the cob of the corn.
Step 2: Get the milk of the corn using your sharpest knife.
Step 3: Place a pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 4: Add in the two tablespoons of softened butter and bacon grease, then allow it to become hot.
Step 5: Add in the corn and cook until caramelized. Make sure to stir from time to time.
Step 6: For creamier corn, cook it for 10 minutes and add in two tablespoons of butter at the end.
Step 7: Add in a splash of heavy cream and stir until well combined.
Step 8: Sprinkle salt and a generous amount of pepper.
Step 9: Remove from the heat.
Step 10: Serve hot and enjoy!
