This the best way to cook beef! The rich flavour of the gravy is amazing! Serve these bad boys over rice, pasta, or potatoes and you have yourself a meal to remember!
Ingredients:
Beef Tips:
1 tbsp Vegetable oil
1 ½ lb stew meat, beef chuck or sirloin cut into large bite-size pieces
1 tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
1 onion, chopped
4-6 garlic cloves, minced
Gravy:
1-4 tbsp butter (in directions)
½ c all-purpose flour
4 c low sodium beef broth
1 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 ½ tsp beef bouillon
1 ½ tsp sugar
½ teaspoon EACH dried parsley, paprika
¼ teaspoon EACH dried oregano, dried thyme
Directions:
Step 1: Season the meat with salt and pepper.
Step 2: Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 3: Add in 1 tablespoon of olive oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 4: Add in the beef in batches and cook for 2 minutes or until the sides are seared.
Step 5: Transfer the seared beef into a 6-quart slow cooker and top it with garlic and onions.
Step 6: In the same skillet with the meat juices, add in 1 to 4 tablespoons of butter and allow it to melt.
Step 7: Add in the flour and whisk until dissolved completely.
Step 8: Add in all the ingredients for the Gravy and allow it to boil.
Step 9: Reduce the heat and simmer the gravy until thick.
Step 10: Pour gravy into the slow cooker and stir until well mixed.
Step 11: Cover the slow cooker and cook until tender on high heat for 3 to 4hours or 5 to 7 hours on low heat.
Step 12: Sprinkle more salt and pepper if needed.
Step 13: Serve over pasta, rice, or potatoes. Enjoy!
