This cake is super legit! I have never had a cake this moist before. If you want to gift someone you love, this will surely do! I first tasted this on my cousin’s wedding. I immediately asked the caterer for the recipe and she was so grateful enough to give it to me. Now, I get to bake it all the time and most importantly, I get to share it with you as well. To Laura, thank you for this!
Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups of sugar
6 Tablespoons baking cocoa
2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups of water
⅔ cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoon vinegar
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
FROSTING:
1 cup milk
1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix – or whatever flavour you prefer
1 (8 oz) frozen whipped topping, thawed
Directions:
Step 1: Apply cooking spray in a 13×9-inch baking pan.
Step 2: In a medium mixing bowl, add the flour, sugar, baking cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until well mixed.
Step 3: Add in water, vinegar, oil, and vanilla. Beat on low speed for a minute using a hand mixer until well combined.
Step 4: Beat for another 2 minutes on medium heat.
Step 5: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking pan.
Step 6: Place it inside the oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes at 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F or until a toothpick comes out clean after inserting in the middle of the cake.
Step 7: Remove from the oven and let it sit on a wire rack to cool at room temperature.
To Make the Frosting:
Step 1: In a medium mixing bowl, add the pudding mix and milk. Beat for 2 minutes or until well blended.
Step 2: Add the whipped topping and beat until well combined.
Step 3: Spread the frosting over the cooled cake.
Step 4: Serve and enjoy!
Note:
Make sure to place any leftovers in the fridge.
