I am a huge fan of cabbage! Every now and then, I browse the internet to find new recipes for cabbage. I am so glad that I have stumbled upon this one because it is just awesome! Aside from the delicious taste, it is also very easy to cook. What I love the most about this is the kick of the jalapenos. Oh, man, make sure to add it because they make this dish extra special. Feel free to add more ingredients if you want. For me, these 5 ingredients are enough. By the way, I love eating this the next day. I just love the taste of cabbage after reheating it. It seems to be more flavorful as well. I don’t know. What do you think? Anyway, serve this with steamed rice and you have yourself a meal to remember. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 head of cabbage
6 slice bacon
1 small onion chopped
2 jalapeno peppers-chopped
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Step 1: Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 2: Add in 6 bacon slices and fry until greasy and crispy.
Step 3: Chop the cabbage and onions.
Step 4: Remove the crispy bacon from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
Step 5: Add in the chopped onions into the skillet and sauté until translucent.
Step 6: Add in the chopped cabbage and stir until well coated with the bacon grease and onions.
Step 7: Cover with lid and simmer over low heat.
Step 8: Crumble the crispy bacon and add it into the mixture as well as 2 jalapenos. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Step 9: Cover and cook until done.
Step 10: Serve hot and enjoy!
Note:
Make sure to place any leftovers in the fridge and reheat when serving again.
