This is the best breakfast to serve on Christmas morning! If you are looking for a new recipe to surprise your kids on Christmas, this is it! I always make this delicious Cinnamon Roll French Toast Casserole on holidays, particularly Christmas. Add this to your list and I promise you that you will not be disappointed. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 cans Cinnamon rolls
½ c butter, melted
⅓ c sugar
2 Eggs
¾ c heavy whipping cream (half & half works too)
3 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ c chopped pecans
Icing from cinnamon roll packages
Directions:
Step 1: Apply cooking spray in a 9×12-inch casserole dish.
Step 2: Melt butter with sugar in a large glass bowl.
Step 3: Add in eggs, cinnamon, eggs, cream, and vanilla. Beat until well combined.
Step 4: Open the canned cinnamon rolls.
Step 5: Slice each roll into four pieces.
Step 6: Place the sliced rolls into the egg mixture and mix until coated completely.
Step 7: Transfer the coated rolls into the prepared casserole dish and spread it.
Step 8: Spread the remaining egg mixture over the rolls.
Step 9: Sprinkle pecans on top.
Step 10: Place the casserole dish inside the oven and bake at 175 degrees C on the low rack for 35 to 40 minutes.
Step 11: Bake until a toothpick comes out clean after inserting it in the middle.
Step 12: Remove from the oven and let it sit at room temperature.
Step 13: Place the icing in a microwavable bowl and place it inside the microwave. Heat for about 15 seconds and pour in on top of the casserole.
Step 14: Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
You can prepare it the night before without the pecans.
Make sure to cover the casserole dish and place it inside the fridge.
Add the pecans in the morning before baking.
