You need to try this recipe! It is simply amazing and the flavours compliment well with each other. Also, it is very easy to make!
Ingredients:
¼ cup strawberries pureed and strained
CAKE:
2 ½ stick butter, softened
2 ½ cups sugar
1 4-ounces package strawberry jello
5 extra-large Eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ½ teaspoon strawberry extract
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
4 ½ cups flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 ¼ cup milk
¼ cup pureed strawberry, strained
1 ½ cup chopped strawberries (a little more if you like)
FROSTING:
1 can Pillsbury cream cheese frosting
1 ½ package (4ounces) strawberry jello
1 teaspoon strawberry extract
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 325 degrees F.
Step 2: Apply cooking spray and flour in a 10-inch tube pan.
Step 3: In a medium mixing bowl, add the butter and sugar. Beat until well mixed and creamy.
Step 4: Add in eggs gradually and beat every addition.
Step 5: Add in the strawberry extracts and vanilla. Stir until well blended.
Step 6: In another mixing bowl, add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
Step 7: Transfer the flour mixture into the butter mixture as well as the milk. Beat until well combined.
Step 8: Add in the strawberry jello and strawberry puree. Beat until well blended.
Step 9: Fold in the chopped strawberries and stir until well combined.
Step 10: Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan.
Step 11: Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for 1 hr. 20 min or until done.
Step 12: Remove from the oven and let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes.
To Make the Glaze:
Step 1: In a microwavable bowl, add the cream cheese frosting. Place it inside the microwave and heat for 1 minute until soft.
Step 2: Remove from the microwave and add in the jello and extract. Stir until well blended.
Step 3: Spread the glaze over the warm cake.
Step 4: Serve and enjoy!
