I was so impressed by this Apple Spice Cake! I never thought that it would be this good! I mean, with just these basic ingredients, you will have the best cake ever! I kid you not. Give this one a try and I am 100 per cent certain that you and your friends will surely love it! Feel free to add more ingredients to this simple recipe if you feel like it. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 spice cake mix, I used Duncan Heinz
1 – 21 ounces can apple pie filling – I chopped the slices up a bit
3 Eggs
FROSTING:
5 tablespoon unsalted butter
½ cup packed brown sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
3 tablespoon milk
1 ½ cup confectioners’ sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Apply non-stick cooking spray in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 3: Chop the apples into 1-inch chunks.
Step 4: In a medium mixing bowl, add 3 eggs, cake mix, and chopped apples. Beat until well mixed and thick.
Step 5: Transfer the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly on the bottom.
Step 6: Place the pan inside the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes or until done.
To Make the Frosting:
Step 1: Place a small saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 2: Add the butter and allow it to melt.
Step 3: Add brown sugar and salt. Stir until well mixed.
Step 4: Add in milk and allow it to boil.
Step 5: Remove from the heat and transfer the frosting into a small mixing bowl to cool for 10 minutes.
Step 6: Add in vanilla and confectioners’ sugar. Stir until well mixed.
Step 7: Spread the frosting over the cake right away.
Step 8: Serve and enjoy!
