The ingredients are easily available. My family adores this pudding and this has been one of their most requested. Perfectly sweet, moist bread with exciting caramel flavour. Simply delicious and to die for!
Ingredients:
BREAD PUDDING:
2 cups whole milk
¼ cup butter, softened
⅓ cup sugar
3 Eggs
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 cups bread, torn into pieces (any bread, although french bread or raisin bread is great)
¼ cup raisins
SAUCE:
1 cup whole milk
2 tablespoons butter, softened
⅓ cup sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 tablespoon flour
dash(es) salt
Directions:
Step 1: Place a saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 2: Add in the milk and allow it to become hot.
Step 3: Add and stir in butter and allow it to melt. Set aside.
Step 4: In a medium mixing bowl, add the eggs, cinnamon, vanilla, and sugar. Stir until well mixed.
Step 5: Transfer the milk-butter mixture into the bowl.
Step 6: Place the pieces of bread in a prepared casserole dish.
Step 7: Pour the batter on top of the pieces of bread.
Step 8: Sprinkle raisins on over the batter.
Step 9: Place it inside the oven. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes at 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C.
To Make the Sauce:
Step 1: Put all the ingredients in a saucepan.
Step 2: Place the pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium. Allow the mixture to boil.
Step 3: Remove from the heat and allow it to cool at room temperature.
Step 4: Pour the sauce over the cooled bread pudding.
Step 5: Serve and enjoy!
