Ingredients:
1 c sharp cheddar cheese the better quality, the better taste
4 tablespoons stick unsalted butter
1 c Mozzarella Cheese
2-3 whole Vidalia onions or any sweet onion will do
½ c Parmesan cheese
Fresh oregano or other herbs for garnish
Garlic salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Directions:
Apply cooking spray in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Slice to about ½-inch pieces each of the onions and split the rings.
Arrange the onion rings into the prepared baking dish.
Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of garlic salt and ½ teaspoon of salt and pepper.
Slice the butter into chunks, then scatter them over the onions.
Sprinkle a generous amount of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and cheddar cheese over the onions.
Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes or until the top turns golden brown.
Remove the Tennessee Onions from the oven and let them rest at room temperature.
Sprinkle freshly chopped herbs on top.
Serve and enjoy!
