This steamed chicken with black bean sauce has been my favorite summer entree! It is super easy and quick to make and guarantees the best flavored and tender chicken. Whip this steamed chicken with black bean sauce up in less than fifteen minutes. The key to a great flavor result, marinating the chicken is an important step. pouring the hot oil on the garlic and fermented black bean motivates the aroma. Serve this delicious steamed chicken with black bean sauce over rice for a simple weeknight dinner that everyone will love!
INGREDIENTS
4 chicken drumsticks, remove the bones, and cut into small pieces
Marinade:
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
¼ teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon Chinese cooking wine
¼ teaspoon white pepper powder
5 slices of ginger
2 spring onions
½ tablespoon oyster sauce, optional
Others:
2 tablespoons vegetable cooking oil, heat until smoky
4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 tablespoon fermented black beans
1 tablespoon cornstarch
other mushrooms
wood ear mushrooms as needed
How to make Steamed Chicken with Black Bean Sauce
Step 1: Into small pieces, slice the chicken meat.
Step 2: Whisk the marinade ingredients; light soy sauce, sugar, white pepper, oyster sauce, Chinese cooking oil, spring onion, and ginger slices. Add the chicken and toss to coat. Let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Step 3: After 30 minutes, remove the spring onion sections and slices of ginger, then discard.
Step 4: into the marinade, stir in the cornstarch until well combined.
Step 5: In the meantime, finely chop the garlic and roughly slice the fermented beans.
Step 6: At the bottom, place the mushrooms and place the chicken on top. Over the chicken, evenly spread the garlic and fermented black beans.
Step 7: Heat about 2 tbsp cooking oil until smoky. Over the garlic, evenly pour the hot oil and mix well.
Step 8: Steam for about 15 minutes over high heat.
Step 9: For more flavor, sprinkle with extra light soy sauce and sesame oil. Serve the Steamed Chicken with Black Bean Sauce immediately with steamed rice. Enjoy!
