Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
9 to 12 asparagus stalks, trimmed
3 large chicken breasts
1 teaspoon garlic powder
3 slices provolone cheese
1 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon lemon zest
salt and pepper
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 218 degrees C or 425 degrees F.
Slice each chicken breast into two but not all the way. Just make a pocket-like cut.
Sprinkle salt, pepper, and lemon zest inside of the chicken.
Add 3 stalks of asparagus and provolone cheese in the middle of each chicken.
Run the outer part of the chicken with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Place a large oven-safe skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the chicken and sear each side for about 3 to 5 minutes or until golden brown.
Cover with foil, then transfer the skillet into the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes.
Remove the skillet from the oven and allow the dish to cool for at least 5 minutes at room temperature.
Serve warm and enjoy!
Note:
Feel free to use a regular skillet for this recipe. Just transfer everything into a baking dish, then bake inside the oven.
