If you are looking for an easy restaurant-style fried rice recipe, then you do not have to look further because this Fried Rice recipe is all you need! Throw this together at home in under twenty minutes using pantry ingredients. This recipe is also very versatile. You can add more veggies if desired or easily make this into a meal. To make the perfect fried rice, make sure to use leftover rice sitting in the fridge.
Ingredients
2 tbsp butter
4 c. cooked rice, long or short grain
2 large eggs, whisked
½ c. chopped onion
½ c. frozen peas
½ c. chopped carrots
1-2 tsp minced garlic
½ tsp sesame oil, or oyster sauce
Salt and Pepper, to taste
3 tbsp lite soy sauce, more if desired
How to make Fried Rice
Step 1: In the fridge, keep the cooked rice until ready to use.
Step 2: In a large skillet or wok, melt the butter. Once melted, add the onion and carrot. Saute for about 2 minutes, then add the garlic and peas. Stir and push the veggies to one side of the skillet. Add the eggs in the space and scramble. Stir everything together, then gently stir in the cooked rice.
Step 3: Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil. Toss well. To taste, season with salt and pepper.
Step 4: serve the fried rice immediately. Enjoy!
Notes:
If desired, you can add extra veggies to the fried rice such as mushrooms, chopped broccoli, and/or bell peppers.
Feel free to add cooked protein such as diced chicken, pork, steak, or shrimp to make a complete meal.
In an airtight container, keep any leftovers and store them for up to 3 days in the fridge or freeze them for up to 1 month.
