This cake will always have a very special place in my heart! Every time I eat it, it brings me back to my happy days! Try this recipe and I am sure that you are going to love it! Ingredients:
2 c white sugar
1 ½ c vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 Eggs
3 c all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp salt
2 medium Granny Smith apples – peeled, cored, and chopped
1 c chopped walnuts
½ c butter or margarine
2 tsp milk
½ c brown sugar
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Apply cooking spray in a 9-inch Bundt pan.
Add eggs, sugar, oil, and vanilla into a large mixing bowl. Beat until well combined.
In another mixing bowl, add flour, cinnamon, salt, and baking soda. Whisk until well mixed.
Transfer the flour mixture into the batter and stir until well combined.
Add the walnuts and apples. Stir until well combined.
Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan.
Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 1 hour and 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean after inserting it in the middle.
Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool at room temperature.
To Make the Glaze:
Place a saucepan on the stove. Add the milk, butter, and brown sugar.
Turn the heat to medium. Stir the mixture until well blended, then allow it to boil.
Remove the pan from the heat.
Spread the glaze on top of the cooled cake.
Allow the glaze to set for a couple of minutes.
